    The phones we use are made up of components and technologies developed and patented by many companies. The originators need to be compensated for their use. Did you think apple invented the phone?

    The same can be said for Nokia and probably all Tech devices, it's all about finding what's cutting edge at the time of devolopment , franchise or purchase it and introducing it to the market under your brand name.

    Well Nokia contributed to the design and development of how GSM, 3G and Wireless can be intergrated into a single component - and thats what they have a patent on. So any manufacturer that are intergrating these technologies could potentially get stung by the patents. Maybe Apple think they have changed the intergration enough to not get caught by the Nokia patents.
