People who go to comedy clubs purely to heckle are tards and never as funny as the person/people they have paid to see.

    IMO

Sorry, Monkey. Despite the fact that stand-up comedy is the greatest of all art forms, and those that partake in this activity worthy of worship, this subforum is usually pretty darn quiet.

To answer your question, though, you can't go wrong at the International for a comedy gig, but there's lots of other places with regular comedy offerings. The Ha'Penny has comedy of one form or another every night (Battle of the Axe open-mike night Tuesdays, Capitol Comedy Club wednesdays and saturdays), the Bankers pub has comedy most nights, either stand-up (Thursday and Saturday) or The Criac Pack Improv (Friday). There's loads. Check the first stickied thread in here, the "Upcoming Shows" one.

The problem here is that there's no comprehensive, easily accessable, up-to-date listing of comedy nights in Dublin. Anyone wanna venture an idea as to how that can be changed?

thanks for the reply, was at the bankers saturday night, there was a guy on from cork who was pretty good Ross Byrne I think his name was, the night was kinda ruined by a heckler from belfast, I really wanted to send him home with one less knee cap...
Must check out some of the other venues you mentioned over the next few weeks, thanks again for the info..

A sticky with the venues and up coming apperaces would be good, looked at the upcoming shows thread but there didn't seem to be much on it..

is there a comedy website in ireland that lists all the venues, news from the starts etc, would think if there's not one somebody should build one, i'm sure advertsing revenue from bulmers, carlsberg etc would easily pay for it's upkeep and maybe even a grant from the arts council...
