Moving to UK... what to do with car?

Sorry if it seems I just post ridiculous questions on here but tbh I don't know anyone who knows anything about cars, so any advice is appreciated.

I am starting a job in the UK in January and don't know what to do about my car. It's a 2008 Yaris Luna which I absolutely love. But financially speaking I don't think it makes sense to bring it over with me So I'm probably going to sell it... but am wondering are 2008 cars actually selling at the minute? I bought it in September 2008 for 13,100... and don't really want to sell it unless it's a reasonably fair price. Where would the best place to advertise it be?

I will need a car in UK but as cars are cheaper over there and would have to pay to import mine, am I right in thinking bringing my own car over would be silly? It's my first car and I love it so the thoughts of selling it for peanuts and then having to buy something not as nice is really not making me happy!

The UK doesn't have VRT, you should have no problem reregging it as a UK car, taxing it (cheaper than here) and getting an MOT on it (not a problem either). It's illogical to sell it here and buy another one in the UK unless you really need the money. If you bought one in the UK and moved back to Ireland it'd be a different story.

    Sell it here.

Your main problem in ringing the car to England is the speedometer. In England the speedometer on cars must read in MPH. If your model Yaris can switch between MPH and KM/H grand, otherwise it won't pass an MOT over there.

Bring it with you and start driving there as a tourist. Then make arrangements to switch the car over to UK reg.

Bring it with you, the car is only a year old so you'll be hit with a big chuck of depreciation. My brother brought his car to the UK when he moved over, was on irish plates for about 6 months. When he went to change it over in the end, only cost him something like £30 do re-register.

Bring it with you, if you go to sell it here you will loose a large chunk of money.

You are supposed to re-reg it after 6 weeks but i know of friends who are still driving on irish plates for well over a year..

If you sell it here you will probably lose 30% or what you bought it for, if you try selling it in the UK on UK plates you will lose about 50% as the car would have been raped by VRT here originally.

Why would you bother not registering it in the UK? Seeing as both motor tax and insurance is cheaper over there you'd actually save money wouldn't you?
