Hi guy's i'm not sure if i am posting this in the correct area but it's a cry for help & assistance. I bought an acer aspire one notepad last December as a Christmas present for my father, not big into technology the device introduced him to the net and he loved it.
Long story short about a month ago he turned it on & the screen remained black. OMG. The on/off light came on & so did the light to indicate the battery had power but that was it. The screen remains black & the XP O/s wont load. The note book was purchased in Tesco and of course i can't find the reciept. i'm looking to see if any one can offer any advice on this at all it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    M

Moved to a separate thread. Did you happen to buy using a credit card/laser? If so you'd be able to show you bought it in tesco. Are you sure xp is no booting? Or is it just that it doesn't show on the screen?
There is a blue "vga" out connector on the laptop which should connect up to an external monitor to check for definite if it's the screen.

Contact www.acerwarranty.co.uk quickly. It might be still under warranty. Even if you don't have the receipt. Depending on the date of manufacture.
