Not sure if this has been posted already but couldnt find any & the search function being down didnt help matters.

Anyway, I think the new Polo looks great! Sure its just a scaled down Golf but I'd be well tempted to buy one of these if the price is right.

Doesn't do anything for me, I'd still spend my money on the new Fiesta.

Looks like a Golf that's been caught in a door.

Meh...its more of the same again. Looks ok there but the 1.2 baselines they'll sell here wont look like that

Same as the Golf only smaller, I think?

I've read the irish brochure on this, if you want any extras or a decent trim level or a slightly powerful engine you'll be paying over €20,000. For a supermini? In this economic climate? Some chance!

I do like the car though.

I thought it looked great from the first pictures of it that I saw but I've seen it in the flesh now and its a real let down. It seems all of the promo pictures are of a specific 60/40 angle to make its rear arches and shoulders look bolder than they are. In reality on standard rims it looks limp. Infact from a dead straight ahead view it looks pinched. Shame. A good VW in this segment keeps the others on their toes. Remember what happened when the 94 model came out.

I drove one on Sunday. Nice to drive but in the flesh, I think it looks a little cheap.

Air con is gone from the baseline trendline (they wish) spec too with the new model

Hmmm. Not nearly as nice as the official pictures.

They look like a car that won't be worth much in 5-6 years time. Comparing to the fiesta they lack style. It's most of the same really.

I think the Mazda 2 is nicer than any of them, including the much vaunted Fiesta (which is the same car).

You can't win these days, too avant garde, won't sell, too safe and condemned by all, who'd want to be making cars at the moment.

But the actual cars(In this country anyway:D) never do! Our base model hub caps culture is the problem!

In the case of the fiesta, they have alloys as standard here(To be fair to Ford Ireland) which always improves them big time

    Lets compare like to like:

    no-image-large.gif&width=400&height=300Base model Polo

media?id=993945162Base model fiesta in the UK

Not quite such a big difference IMO
