    Hi,

I had planned a hiking trip this weekend in a bid to raise sponsorship for a charity.
A big group of us are all set except the weather is forecasted to be bad.

I am new to fundraising so what should we now do??? People we got sponsorship off will ask why the mountain hike was called off and will naturally wonder about their money. I can say we had to postpone but now going into winter!!

    Help please!!

Personally I would put on my oilskins and grin and bear that rain. If people have given you money it will seriously screw up the rest of your fundraising plans if you don't do it.
Other than that I would decide right now when you will do it for definite and stick to that. Feic the winter. If you've said you'll do it, do it!

Make sure it doesn't put your party at unnecessary risk. Maybe a hike through the countryside in bad weather rather than on a mountain in good weather would produce sufficiently hardy pictures to honour the sponsorship.
