False charges

I'm in a dispute with a neighbour and soon will take him to court. Now I have received a reply from his solicitor in which the neighbour makes completely false charges. Is it possible to sue the guy for slander/libel?

You should ask your legal counsel I think.
    Can you disprove these allegations?

If the charges are not true you may have a case however if there is any truth in what the neighbour is alleging then you would not be successful. You should seek advice from a solicitor on the issue as they would be in a better position to advise you on any potential defamation actions in the matter.
