From my limited knowledge i think it is an AC Cobra
No idea where you would get one but looks expensive.
You asked your question in the right place and before the end of the day you will know exactly what it is,how much it will cost and where to get one.

Pilgrim cars in the uk make them, they also have a porsche 356 replica that looks amazing. If i remember correctly the cost of the whole kit was about £6000. If you you tube a car is born they build one

I just love the shape of it! I love the old morgan roadster type cars, but this is a pimped out roadster. Any ideas on the cost of putting a kitcar together? and what size engine is in them?

Cheers all for your help yiz know yer stiff here!

Id say the insurance companies just love kitcars here. Would I be right?

Original AC Cobra's are into mortgage money nowadays, despite the recession, and because of the hazy history through the years, with take overs, continuation models, where in some cases Carol Shelby was involved and in others he wasn't, it's extremely difficult to confirm the heritage of these socalled 'genuine' AC Cobra's.

The replica's though, still fetch strong money too, especially the ones with 427/428 Ford blocks.

There are however dozens of replica manufacturers on the market, where the cars are based on Rover V8's, Jaguar engine and running gear (Dax) and the cheaper well known being the Pilgrim Sumo. Usually these have 4 cyl Ford units or small V6's.

I know of a good few around (also in RHD), prices from around 10-15k for a reasonably tidy runner with up to 35-45k for a Dax 427 with a Jag straight six engine.

If budget is restricted, you could consider a Panther Lima, Vauxhall Viva running gear, with the trusted 2.3 litre 4 pot. A bit flimsy on the detailling, but a surprisingly reliable car, considering it's viewed as 'just another kitcar'. I know of a 79 car (so it's VRT Exempt) RHD red/orange over black with black leather interior, 77k on the clock. Yours for 8,500
