Hi I missed another connecting flight on my last holidays, I returned last week from Orlando safe and sound but on the departure from Dublin to New York flight we were delayed due to problems with the air traffic control system in Scotland.

    http://news.stv.tv/uk/127706-flights-delayed-after-air-traffic-control-hitch/

So due to this we were stuck in New York and had to wait for another flight the next day

We travelled with Delta and all they did was offer use the connecting flight the next day. We had to get taxis and accom for the night but Delta would not help financially towards this. I have insurance prior to my booking however - would my insurance cover any of this?

Thanks if anyone can advise or help?

Probably they would have - you should always being their emergency line number with you though and get approval at the time. After the event - well you might have a tough time of it getting money from them.

Ill read the policy when I get the chance...

Never even thought of ringing up the insurance company was too tired and grumpy, so we just got a room asap

Did you document your experience at the time? This is the most important thing, keep your receipts etc
