Never been to Soll but my mates want to head there this year, been to Livigno, St Anton and Andorra...

Anyone any idea of what the snow will be like here? Altitude not fantastic...

    Anyone recommend someplace to stay?

I know its late, we've just decided to head, flights working out at €250-300 to fly to Munich or Salz... nearly not worth trying to DIY it...

we're stuck to this date as we are heading with teachers...

check out this post about DIY Soll booking

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=61164855&postcount=3

I was going to do this and then I priced with TO and there wasn't a whole pile in the difference so I went with the TO. I did go so far as to mail the B&B in this post and they got back very promptly.

Flights are expensive, drop the teachers and go a week or two later, a big difference in price. Otherwise wait for a late deal, won't get much New Year week as busiest week of the season but if as you say you are going the next week should be better deals. Only problem is getting a late deal if there is a big crowd of ye.

We ended up booking with Crystal from Dublin...

Just a point I noted, for anyone looking to book a package, there is approx €150-€250 saving off package ski holidays when flying from the north.
This didn't suit us as 8 of us will be travelling from the Cork after new year's celebrations to make a Dublin flight on the 2nd... couldn't face driving to Belfast.

It would suit people living close enough to Dublin who wont mind spending 2 hours on the M1 to Belfast...

Looking forward to skiing now that we've committed...

For anyone still looking there are some great deals to be had flying from the north... you can pick up your food shopping in Newry on the way home!!!:D

I've just booked 4 days in Soll from Dec 11. Season starts that weekend and its already snowing there so should be good!

Booked seperate and its cost me €318 for flights, transfer, accomodation, B&B. Just need to hire skis then... its cheaper to hire than to take my own!

    Hi there,
I've been to Soll twice and it is a great spot. The lift pass covers you for about 8 villages so there is a loads of snow. Altitude can be a problem - its at 800m. The snow was bad second time around but we could still ski on the upper slopes. The nightlife is great and there are really nice restaurants around the town. Not the biggest village I have ever been in but enough to keep you busy for a week.
