    I'm looking in build a NAS asap to take the pressure off my Gaming PC.
    I already have 5 1TiB Samsung F1 SATA2 drives, Corsair TX 850W ATX.

    But looking for ideas on the following parts with the list min spec:

    MotherBoard -
    Asus would be first option but will consider others.
    >4 x SATA2 ports {>6x and linux compatible is best},
    > 2 x PCI-X ports and at-lest 1 PCI.
    Intel Socket-775
    Dual Gig Nic's

    CPU
    Compatible with above MB, Dual Core{Quid would be nice but would kill the budget}.

    Graphics Card
    Nvida {for the Linux support}
    Will be connected to 40" Full HD so DVI/HDMI.
    Should also be back to handle some gaming.

    RAM
    2-4GiB in single stick {will be looking to make it to 16GB for VMWare hosts} will settle for 2x 2GiB if the pricing is crazy for single sticks.

    Optical Drives
    DVD-RW or BlueRay {if cheap}

    Case
    Good case with easy access to Drives and wiring.
    Hotswappable HD is a great bonus.

    Budget is ~300€- ~400€ {closer to 300 or lower the better}

    You will no way in a million years get that for €300.

    A 4GB stick of Ram Alone is close to €100 iirc.

    Ignoring the single stick requirement, what a good mix of MB/CPU/RAM?
