    It's purple. :pac:

The vendor hasn't really put much effort into selling it so I wonder how effort he put into running it.

firstly the body is fiberglass and is known to crack , due to the stress it goes under , and can cost a fortune or at least lots off time to get right , engines are near bullet proof , but if not looked after just like everything else can go wrong but parts are bloody cheap anyway , next is the chassis splitting or rusting , either way damage that you can see until you remove the body really , my advice would be too get in touch with an american club and ask there advice as they would know much more about those type off cars than most do .................there is one in kilbeggan/co offaly......... but there are a few around the country ....

also as with all american cars they dont handle irish roads at all ...... petrol consumption will be dire but hey thats the fun bits lol ........

Can't beat American Muscle for a bit of flash and testosterone!

That 'Vette doesn't look too hot on first impressions but you would really have to see it in the flesh to judge properly. Chevy's are a great starter car as they tend to be more reliable and the 'Vette is one of the best handling pony cars.

For the asking price of €7.5k I have seen better looking examples for less. Friend of mine has one in very good condition that he will let go for €8.5k - and it's red. Have a look at the site in my sig at the cars for sale section there. The thing is with any of these cars, you never know what they've been through. Any of the cars for sale by the club will have been well tended to by an enthusiast.

if i had that sort off money to buy something then i would propabbly buy a BMW 635CSI , they started makin them in 1978 lol ...... been looking but then again i have a JAG XJS 78 V12 one , which is as flash as you can get and drivable most off them time , but really come down to what you want as in how many seats , for many people , to do what with {shows or just weekend car } so on ............
i have my capri as out and out wolf in sheeps clothing , i have a escort turbo {mk3 escort } RS1 in restoration but going to be a everyday car , i also have a 1973 rover P6 as secondary show type off car along with the JAG as well , JAG is bloody expensive for me to use , {50 euro is 190 mile}as no longer have a job does give me more time to get stuff done with my cars though , recently bought a kinda classic 1990 BMW 318i in bright yellow as daily driver ............................ but my next buy {when not if i have a job again } will be a 3dr sierra cossie .........

my exboss has a 76 camero , just bought a recond engine for it from the uk , 5.7 , nice car but again rather crap by todays standards though ....

in conclusion really depends on what your looking for but remember if you buying something pre 79 , that only 50 to import from the uk so may well be worth your while going over there and find much better cars .......

Love the XJS and the 635, there was a nice 635 for sale in Swords last weekend for €3.5k. Muscle cars are more expensive but turn more heads and sound the dogs! Every old car can be a money pit but the Jag and BM especially so! The V8's are usually trouble free once well maintained, touch wood I've had little or no probs with mine and she's not *that* bad consumption wise, about 18mpg in a 6.6 engine.

    Horses for courses.........

    americian muscle is good

my ideal would be some thing like a manta a running a rover v8 or a mk1 celica with big power
but whats the story with running something like that will they insure a car with the wrong engine

how are you insuring a turbo capri for example
