    hey folks,

Looking for cheap, fun, interesting stuff to do around Dublin. Day or night, but mostly during the day. Preferably not drinking, unless it's really cheap.

Anything cool going on over the next few weeks?

Interested in anything, really... Art, music, films, cultural events, science and history exhibits etc.

I suggest you drop into the Dublin Tourist Office on Suffolk St. Check the Dublin Stand out. they have loads of free flyers etc about whats going on. Get the small free Dublin In Your Pocket mag. Comes out every 2 months.

Theres a chocolate festival on wit a free outdoor screening of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory in temple Bar. The outdoor movies are great if you get the weather but dress warm :)

Take a free walk around Dublin. You might be well surprised at what you discover about the city. Worth doing and it's free!

Head out to Glasnevin Cemetery and spot the famous graves :D
Daniel O'Connell's crpt has been reopened to the public but you have to take the tour to access it. Costs a fiver but well worth it!

Toys for big boys is on in the RDS on the 5th of November.

    Go to the Botanic Gardens.

Chester Beatty Library is free and they have an amazing collection of snuff bottles on display at the moment.

The Garda Museum is right beside the Chester Beatty Library and if you are interested in Irish history it's a great small museum to visit. It's free and closes for lunch.

The National gallery has an Edward Munch (who painted The Scream) exhibition at the mo but I think you have to pay seperately to see it.

Collins Barracks is a great museum (if you have not been there).
Rent abike at the Phoenix Park entrance and cycle the park.

You could go for a wander around some of the weekend markets like the Blackhorse Market or the ones in Temple bar.

Theres a CSI experience in the Ambassador on O' Connell Street at the minute where members of the public can use their heads to try and solve crimes. Very entertaining if youre in to that sort of thing.

You could try ' Walk and Talk' free historical walks around Dubin. Takes about 90 minutes. Great way to meet people as well. Look up 'Walk and talk' Dublin City Council.:D
