I've just passed the Theory test and will be getting my first provisional this week. I know you have to have a prov. for 6 months before the actual test, but how long is the waiting list for the Driving Test?

That's interesting. If I assume a six week notice period of test, then Buncrana looks like an 18 week from application wait. Is that right? Have things really slipped that badly again?

must point out that the stats list is rarely update

when booking the test its probably best to just ask.

then again you might be put on the short list to get a sooner test.

There have been some rumours that testers are on a go slow (not sure how you'd tell the difference), following the Bord Snip report recommending that testing be privatised.

It would be interesting to get figures on the level of sickness/absenteism among testers at the moment.

A word of advice to anyone applying online, make sure you opt for them to notify you by post rather than email, it seems the email is a bit dodgy.

Applied for my test back in June, and hadn't heard anything, decided to ring them last week, they told me they sent out an email in august for a test date in the middle of september, but I hadn't received it, and it wasn't in my spam folder. The woman on the phone said no problem, that their email system doesn't always send the email but the system tells them it does

She then said how does 2 weeks time sound, and she's sending the confirmation and details via post.
