So what tasks are you looking to speed up? I connected similar kit a few times to Cubase, but always seemed more effort to program the macro's rather than just click the buttons (then again I am not using it day in day out)....

    Nor am I Welease.

I just find the multi touch thing very intuitive - and anything that speeds up or simplifies interaction with a computer is good in my book.

    I use a Kensington expert mouse/trackball
    http://us.kensington.com/html/2200.html
I have 2 22" and 1 32" screens and I can spin the trackball and grab it on another screen moving about very quickly.
I have left click, right click and play/stop and record in logic assigned to the 4 buttons.
Pressing the top 2 buttons together is assigned to expose all open windows and the 2 bottom buttons together for expose clear to desktop.
works great for me and I could never go back to a normal mouse.
I can spend hours editing drums and not get cramp in my hand like I used to with a mouse.

    Yes indeed.
I pulled out an old Kensington Orbit Trackball I used to used and agree they're great.
I think the trackball and trackpad combo could be the ultimate way to interface.
