Regret and failure

Hi there. I'm 21. I'm in college. I work as well and that got in the way, they put me on too many shifts and I explained I have college work but they said I'd work if i still wanted a job! I've rent, two loans and I don't think I could handle losing my job and going into debt.

I'm so depressed, the Sunday night I went out with three friends to a pub, don't remember coming home, I have bruises all over my body, hurt my back and it hurts to walk. I'm too embarrassed to go to the doctor and admit what I did (go out, get drunk, lost my phone, my wallet, my cards, my reading glasses, everything). I'm in a lot of pain , my head hurts really bad and I've a slight blurred vision and i don't know whether it's due to the missing reading glasses or because I actually bumped my head. There were bowls smashed in my sitting room, glassses broke in the kitchen and my clothes I wore that night are all ripped. I have no memory of what happened.

I haven't spoken to my friends, my phone is gone and they haven't called in for me at all.

I feel a mess and I don't know how to fix this.

If you're still in pain, then get yourself to a doctor. Your college should have a free/cheap doctor's service. DON'T EVER be too embarassed to go to a doctor.

As for your friends, get in touch with them and find out what happened. Sitting around not knowing will not help. If you have made an ass of yourself, at least you can start to make amends.

Oh no, it sounds like you got beaten up or were in a fight.

Listen the worst thing to do is stay inside and not contact anyone. Call to one of your friends and find out what happened. Its better than torturing yourself wondering and not knowing.

Go back to the pub and see if they have at least your glasses.

I know when you are in a hole like this the last thing you want to do is re-trace your steps but the sooner you do the sooner you will be able to start mopping up with mess.

Get checked over by the Doctor. You wouldn't be the first person he has seen injured after blacking out.

I'm sure I dont need to tell you drinking to blackout stage is so dangerous. Im not lecturing you as I have done it myself, not on prurpose. But you are young, 21 you haven't made any big mistakes yet. the college stuff and work stuff and money stuff WILL work out if you keep yourt wits about you and work to stay on top of it.

DONT drink out of frustration or defeat. It only makes things worse.
Anyway, enough lecturing, look after yourself.

Hi and thanks for the replies, there are more bruises on my body, as time goes on they present themselves. I'm starting to thiink i might have been beaten or taken a bad fall. Or worst, been thrown about the place by someone, but i really really just do not remember. It's killing me. My friends I spoke to today were saying they remember very little as well, but that there's little i would need to know either way. that it's not going to bring my stuff back and it's not gonna change anything.

I'm starting to get down to doing my college work now, and I'm booking myself in for an appointment with my doctor next tuesday.... I think I need an x ray, my arm and back are bruised and it really hurts to move around..... I started taking some ponstan from a sports injury I had in the past so it should work with the pain for the time being...

Thanks again for the replies guys, it feels good to know i wasn't the only one this has happened to.
