What's the fastest readily-available colour film out there?

1600 ASA seems to be the fastest I can find.

That's pretty much it, superia 1600. I think portra 800is a vastly superior film though, even shot at 1600. I've never gotten on with fuji's print film offerings.

theres also fuji press 1600, tho they might be discontinuing it now like the 800 version, I dont think many people bother with high iso color film anymore as much as with b&w.

Im curious to see what fuji provia 400x looks like when pushed .5-1 stop, would be nice with f1.2/f1.4

Yeah I've been tempted to try pushed Provia 400x before, there are some nice examples on flickr of people having done it succesfully, including 2 stops to 1600 ... http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=int&ss=2&w=all&q=provia+400x+pushed+1600&m=text

All in all though I prefer just shooting the stuff at box speed. Its a gorgeous film, and I've ruined enough rolls of it shooting it normally or x-processing it without trying further experimentation :)

    -edit-
And yeah, with regard to fast colour film. It was never particularly great at the best of times. Even as a committed film shooter, If I wanted to shoot high-iso colour I'd probably sigh quietly and go digital...
