Front of last weeks Advertiser about getting channels installed for 269. Is it yet another con?

A lot of the British channels are broadcast free to air via satellite.
You can get the BBCs, ITVs, Channel 4 families of stations plus some other ones.

You need a regular TV aerial to get RTE, TV3, TG4.

The ones you don't get are Sky 1/2, Discovery Channels, Comedy Channels

This is probably more appropriate in Tech -> Cable and Digital TV -> Satellite as it is the same allover the country.

Check the list of channels available against the ones you watch before you switch.

I watch nothing to be honest! Tis for herself! I think the money is a saving in that it's not a monthly bill for nothing!

That would be for a FTA reciever and an aerial. And by no means am I promoting it as this has been discussed in another thread.
