I've decided to start using my footpod on my Polar watch instead of the GPS (too bulky and pointless really-- seeing my routes on google earth was fun twice).

Does anyone know where there's an accurately measure km preferably around clontarf? I want to calibrate the footpod cause its not accurate at this stage.

There's a 1 mile loop that Raheny AC use, it's just off the Howth Road. Also there are km signs for the Sli na Slainte on the Clontarf seafront. Why don't you measure 1km with your GPS and use that to calibrate the foot pod?

Also, starting messages with "so" can be very annoying!

Cool thanks... i can use the GPS and double back but its too much like hard work -- although probably the best option. I'm also not sure of the 1km signs as they are attached to the nearest lamppost.

I run on that route 3/4 times a week and i follow the km posts only as a guide. I find them to be quite quirkey. The one from beside clontarf dart station to just past the yacht seems short, probably cause i run on the grass and its measured along the main road. The next one from past the yacht to the pumping station is the most reliable i find.
