    Seat Leon, 1.4, petrol.

I was replacing the fuel filter yesterday and i managed to break the connection on the fuel line, so no it won't connect back on to the fuel filter.
dunno what to do. Car won't start obv, Would like to fix it myself. Anybody have a spare leon/golf that they are not using and want to let me use their connector please? Hope this doesn;t mean i need to replace the fuel line altogether..... any thoughts?

It's a simple and presumably inexpensive fix. Buy the part and just fit it.

I doubt it would be any use coz of the petrol. I strapped it good and tight with electrical tape, just so i could start the engine. But as sson as the fuel pump started, the tape got wet and just loses it's, um, stickiness.

By the way, this is a petrol model, the fuel filter is under the car just in fron of the driver's side rear wheel. (close to the fuel tank).

    Ah ok.

Either way though a potential fuel leak near the tank from a botched repair has to be bad news.

I've done it before. It works.

Both parts need to be dry of petrol when they're mated, but it's held for the last year or so. So much that I actually forgot about it.

Needs something that'll resist attack by petrol though.

    I'm intrigued....

I meam, i could tie me over for a few days. And I wouldn't be filling up the tank just in case it decides to fail in the middle of nowhere.

This might sound like a McGyver job, but if you could try a piece of the
window washer piping thats attacted under the bonnet, cut a piece to fit,
then try your local scrapyard for a fuel line pipe. Good luck.
