Booking Thailand For Next Summer

I'm going to Thailand next summer and at the moment I'm trying to work out when would be the best time to book it and who with? I was there this summer but I booked late (March) and the flights cost me over a grand (This was with USIT by the way). If I book in January will they be cheaper?

Are USIT the best option? All we really need them for are the flights over so should I consider looking at airline websites?

Basically, all I want to know is what is the best/cheapest way to book Thailand for next summer!

Go to this website , book from london all airports and and then have flexible time and you will get prices as low as 435euro , so if you get a good deal with ryanair or someone you should be able to get it all sorted for 600 if you are flexible.

There's no set rules to getting cheap flights.
I went with Usit last year too and got return flights for just over €600 and I only booked them about 2 months before going.

Book earlier rather than later. I've never managed to get cheap flights by leaving it last minute.

Be flexible. A day or two either way might knock 100s off your flight.

Shop around. If you get a quote in one travel agent, wander into another and ask them to beat it. Some of them use different airlines so might get vastly different prices.

Personally (and this is just my preference, it may well be that I'm getting old) I wouldn't book flights to London and then fly from there. Some airlines to London only have a 15Kg limit for checked baggage. My bags from Thailand have always been more than 15Kg. And with my missus I've been lucky to get understanding airlines that would look the other way when our bags were a couple of kilos over.
I like checking on in Dublin and then not worrying about my bags till the final destination.
Also if your flight to London (either from Dublin or from Thailand) is delayed the airline who delayed you only has to get you to London. If they're a couple of hours late and cause you to miss your second flight then hard luck. If you book all the way from Dublin and one of your flights is delayed that's all the airlines problem and they have to get you to your final destination.

If it's going to save you €400 - €500 more it might be worth your while but if you're saving €50 (and I know people who paid more and thought they were getting a good deal) don't bother.

Edit: That cheapflights.ie is pretty good but I checked a few flights there myself and they add on a few quid comission. So there's no harm using them but check the official airline sites too.

I found flights before from stansted to Kuala Lumpur for 267pounds return with www.airasia.com You could then get a flight to Bangkok for around 10euro.

I just had a quick look to compare.

Next month. 18th - 26th. The dates don't matter. I just chose the same ones for all three.

    London - Bangkok - Expedia - Cheapest is €479
    Dublin - Bangkok - Cheapflights.ie - Cheapest is €818.28
Dublin - Bangkok - Dublin Travel Agent - Cheapest quoted was €648 (that was with two stops though). The cheapest with one stop was €667.

So the moral of the story is shop around.

Edit: Last thing last night the travel agent emailed me to say she'd found a cheaper flight. So the cheapest she's found now was €580 from Dublin inc taxes with one stopover. Now I feel guilty now about asking her to check up the prices :)

www.skyscanner.net is pretty good, don't book throught it though go to the cheapest airline's own website.

Dublin to Bangkok via Istanbul working out at €636 with Turkish Airlines (www.thy.com). That's from early July - early September by the way. You could probably get cheaper deals from London, and then book a Ryanair flight separately. Doubt you would end up saving too much though.
