Make sure both cables are in the sockets properly.

used to happen to me. The connections are very sensitive so just take out the cables and blow on them in case there's dust on them or something.

    Worked for me anyway ;)

The same thing happens to me every so often. I just reboot the box via the planner rebuild. I read a post on another forum from a guy who has his HD box plugged into a timer that switches off the power at 4am for 15 mins in order to reboot!

It's a pain in the backside but I've had Pace, Samsung & Thomson boxes and they all did it. The current Thomson box does it a lot more often - every couple of weeks.

Adverse weather can hamper your satellite signal too

I have my box (Amstrad) for about 2 1/2 weeks and I've had problems like this. Initially all my recordings failed and I couldn't pause live TV, then the planner disappeared altogether and I couldn't get to any recordings or set reminders.. I am pretty convinced that its a software bug.. I put a call out, but ironically had a power cut in the house the day that SKY installed was coming out to fix the problem, and you guessed when the box came back on with the power - no problems. Then it happened again exactly a week after, and rebooting the box worked. No more problems at the moment... But should I accept a buggy box like this? Should I be happy with a box that I need to reboot once every forthnight, or once every week? Should it not just work?
