1992 vw jetta engine swap

    swapping a 1.6td engine into a 1.6na car,both 1992

    is there anything else that needs changing?
    as far as i can remember the pump on both is mechanical so the ecu's don't need to be changed

    am i right?

    If you intend using the turbo on the 1.6td the turbo exhaust manifold oil feed to the turbo and oil drain from turbo to block or sump would have to be fitted. You can fit the turbo block and retain your existing manifolds if not availing of the turbo from the 1.6td.

    Get on to vagdrivers.net and you will get an answer. The turbo and na have different gearboxes. Not sure whether they are compatible, they may be but the gearing is definitely different.
