Hi there so I trying to cut down on eating chicken fillet rolls and all that sort. Im wondering what could I subsitute in for my lunch. TBH i'm abit fussy and would rather a nice simple lunch.

One thing I was thinking of doing is having chicken soup for lunch and 2 slices of brown bread, one problem is find some place that consistently does chicken soup. Many places change it up every day.

Another option I was thinking was to have maybe have 2 chicken fillets in a wrap.

I don't mind using 500-600 cals at lunch as im low enough on it on cal count at the min.

Also I don't mind spending €50-€6 on a lunch as long as its a fairly good option!

    Thanks

That seems to me to be a big waste of 500-600 calories. Chicken soup that you don't make yourself can vary hugely in quality and will mostly have lots of flour and cheap veg like potato and very little chicken for the calories.

You could make your own (boil up chicken bones to make stock) and carry it in a flask or container so you can heat it up.

Or you'd be better with an actual chicken breast and some salad or vegetables. Same calories, more filling, better nutrition and taste.

I'm always curious about places in dublin to get a decent lunch too. I'm far from a nutrition expert, but superficially the places that I hit when I want something beyond the chicken fillet roll are:

Soupdragon: at the moment have a good 3euro deal (soup, bread and fruit) depending on where your office is (http://www.soupdragon.com/). Their soup menu is fairly consistent.

Gruel: can be good (1/2 a roast in a roll and 1/2 a soup deal), although it is a bit pricey for a regular lunch, and make sure you avoid it on the day they do the ham and piccalilli (!). The menu rotates daily, but its the same on any given day every week. (http://www.menupages.ie/mostpopular/restaurants/gruel.aspx)

M&S: If you have a microwave M&S do a 'healthy option' steamed tv-dinner type thing that sometimes comes with a free box of fruit. (Don't judge me, please ;))

Munchies: if you invent a sandwich yourself they have some nice breads if you get in early; I normally get something simple (ham+edam or whatever) with leafy-salad stuff.
