Lads throwing this in here also cause of the legality of the issue I want advice about.

I have just moved in to a place, I was told there was 4 ppl in the house plus me which would be 5 when I agreed to the lease on Tuesday. When I arrived yday to move in I was told there is 6 ppl in the house plus me which would be 7 people.

I am not very happy about this to be honest, its too many ppl to be living with imo. If I was unhappy about this and wanted to cancel my 12 month lease having signed it Friday , is that possible like other goods/service contracts, I dont feel happy about it all. If I was to cancel my lease, would I almost expect to lose my months rent and deposit?

well im guessing they broke the contract so it would be their fault and was not in the agreement.

you can cancel as you wish and get your money back

but you probably will have to pay for the time you were there.

It all seems very strange to me and i am not used to it, as I am a first time renter.

But I remember specifically he told me there was 1 girl and a couple with another girl moving in on Thursday, and of the people I met yesterday, neither of the two of them were the original people he had mentioned. There is nothing specifically in his contract pertaining to the amount of people in the house so thats what made me think that he could do what he likes basically. Oh and one the guys I met yesterday hadnt a clue I was moving in, nor did he know that someone had moved in Thursday.

If a person in any way was told you that they would be living with x people and ended up living with x plus y people that person would be fairly safe in walking out on a lease. The difficulty would be the hassle in getting a deposit back - but this is unavoidble if the person in question walks on the lease.
