    I'm getting desperate.

I've tried T-Gel and loads of other shampoos for greasy hair but nothing works:mad:

    Any ideas?x

Avoid using conditioner, or if you MUST use it, only use it at the very ends of the hair instead of at the roots.

Give your hair 2 washes when in the shower...

If all else fails, try buying some dry shampoo, most chemists sell them. Cant for the life of me remember what its called but everywhere sells them. I use it all the time, if i dont get a chance to wash my hair. use it on dry hair, takes all of 30 seconds. works like a charm!

    Batiste dry shampoo.

Just go for the regular one if you're buying. The scented ones are a bit dodge :S

    About four euro a can.

Other than that I'd say, change your pillow cases often or sleep on a towel. Avoid touching your hair too frequently and wash it 2/3 times in the shower. Leave the condtioner out when it the shower but if you find your hair needs buy a light one and only use on the ends.

    Hope it helps :)

Have to second everything said so far, I use all of those tricks and while I still need to wash my hair every day if I want to leave it down, they do help. Also, lately I've been using a really cheap Boots own brand Rosemary and Mint shampoo, and I swear I find it better than T-Gel or anything else! It was on offer for €1.50 for a while but I think it's €1.99 normally. Might be worth a try!

I've tried everything too, and I just wash my hair every day now. Even if my hair looks ok, the grease gets on my forehead and gives me acne. My hair is in better condition than most people's too, I don't really think washing it once a day harms it as long as you don't blow dry or style.

If I have to go two days, I spray dry shampoo on BEFORE it gets greasy, and then the next day if it is greasy.

Maybe try changing your diet around so? If your eating a lot of greasy food, stop! Drink loads of water, or maybe give some vitamin B a whirl... or something more tailored to hair.

  • Tell me about it, my hair is unbelievably greasy. I've tried everything, and bar washing it every day (which I really don't want to do - I need to blowdry it every time) I haven't found a solution. I usually use dry shampoo but I'd rather not have to. It's so annoying when you look like you haven't washed your hair in days. The best advice I can offer is to use those mint/tea tree oil shampoos - they usually keep the grease away longer than Pantene and all that.

I find the new(ish) L'Oreal Elvive nutri-gloss light shampoo (and conditioner) pretty good. They are for greasy hair and smell nice and also leave it really soft. They are almost always on offer in Tesco/Boots.

The Boots tea tree and rosemary shampoo is great for stopping hair from getting greasy but it STINKS.

This is the best shampoo I have found:

    http://www.tresemme.com/classic-care/products/vitamin-c-shampoo.aspx

It's the green one it's very very cleansing I used to use it every day but now I can go 2 days between washes. I now only have to use it once a week to get it to work.

Also instead of conditioner I use this:http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/haircare/women/elvive-nutri-gloss-light/conditioning-shine-spray.aspx

and it never gets greasy, I use it after washing and maybe once more before washing.

your hair may be greasy from product build up- particularly if you wash it every day!

once a week i use boots 'build up shampoo', it is amazing and leaves my hair really clean and soft even when i dont use a conditioner and it is only a few yo-yo's so you cant go wrong
