    Hi

I have the NCT tomorrow and noticed there is a crack in the rear tail light of my car . Is this an NCT failure ?

I put my fathers car through the NCT earlier in the year and he had a crack in the tail light, so I went to the car shop and got a strip of the light repair plastic to match the colour of the light, in this case clear! I stuck that on and it passed no problem, and this was more than a crack, it was a chunk gone out of it!

The test manual shows a failure if "Lens missing or broken" so they might call it up, but if it's only a crack with no bits missing they'll likely let it through.

If it does fail, you'll have to repair/replace the light but at least the retest is free since it's a visual retest.

Pretty sure it's not a fail. Mine passed last month with a cracked brake-light ... repaired with superglue :)

As long as the light is still showing red and not white, it should be ok. I'd stick a bit of clear tape on it to keep moisture out.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
