    So

Last nite a few of us were chattin and the ghost topic came up, I've always been a bit of a sceptic but some of the stories they had really really had me thinking. These people are not the type to wind me up so i was just wondering has anyone got any scary stories or seen anything strange?

This is not a debate on the existence of ghosts so no paranormal bashing please!

There's a very old unused graveyard out the back of the home house, we used to play in there as kids, made a hut in the trees and everything, we'd go in there doing the ouija board at Halloween and get drunk, it was great craic. Sometimes the dog would come out with sets of teeth because some of the tome stones had broken. One day when we where leaving the graveyard going into my back garden a big tree branch that had broken off during a storm explosively broke in half. That's about the only unexplained spooky thing that's happened to me.

my dad passed away 2 months ago. The evening after he passed away we were over in my mams, just tidying up before we went to bed. Just myself and my sister left up. We were in the dining room and the light flashed. My sister was like "did you see that" and i was like "uh huh".. So my sister waited a few seconds and she then went "Dad?" and the light flickered immediately after about 5 or 6 times!!

It was the scariest but funniest thing ever! My dad loved all ghosty things and beyond the grave, so if it was or wasnt him, wherever he may be, he would have been laughin his head off at us

Also! Just met my friend there for lunch. Her dad passed away 10 years ago. Her sister is pregnant and cant come up with any boys names, so for a laugh, she stood infront of her fridge which is full of magnet letters and she said to herself, ok dad, make up a boys name with these letters for me.. and as she looked at the fridge, at the bottom she noticed 5 letters.... an a by itself. and id together and just after that was an an.... aidan!! how freaky!

im fully convinced the pub i work in has a ghost. ive seen and heard a few things over the years ive been there.
one sunday morning after letting myself in i saw a black figure standing beside the karaoke machine. i would be standing in the kitchen and hear the doors outside opening and closing. the thing is i go in at 7.30 and the cleaner doesnt come in til 10 so i have to put up with it for over 2 hours.
one of the girls who works there wont go into the lounge on her own at night after it has been closed, she even calls the ghost by name, eugene.

when i was about 14 i stayed at a friends house for the first time. she lives in a really old farm house, which they didnt always own, but they had bought about 5 yrs previously and had it done up.
i went to bed in her sister's room which was downstairs (her sister was on holidays) and went to sleep suspecting nothing.

in the early hours of the morning (well i dont really know what time it was, but the house was silent) i woke up suddenly, wide awake for no reason wondering what had woken me. Suddenly something slapped me across the face full force and i couldnt even speak. i was totally freaked out but got up to switch on the light and there was nothing there. my cheek was bright red and i panicked (as you might) and ran upstairs to find my friends room.

after sharing my friends bed for the night i went down to breakfast the next morning where some of her brothers and sisters were. they asked me did i meet the ghost in C's room, and i was like 'what?'.
they told me that there was a male ghost in the bedroom who didnt like anyone except for C sleeping there. apparently the ghost had flung some of the brothers against walls and hit them if they tried to sleep there ( my friend had a big family with mainly grown up siblings) so nobody except C slept there now.

i couldnt believe how they had let me sleep there knowing this and i suppose they didnt say anything to me before so not to freak me out. apparently he didnt hate female sleepers as much as male ones, so decided just to give me a good auld slap instead of beating the living hell out of me!:(

my friends sister C has down syndrome too, so maybe this has something to do with why the ghost was friendly to her?

i am what i would think a total skeptic when it comes to things like this, even though this happened to me. i know this did happen, but at the same time i cant believe anyone elses stories of hauntings/sightings etc.

There is a house near me that's haunted by the ghosts of two gay lovers.
To this day they still give each other the willies.

Why do ghosts wear clothes? I`m being serious. If a ghost is an echo, or manifestation of a human soul, then as the clothing worn by said ghosts doesn`t have a soul of any kind, how come it is that ghosts are wearing ghost clothes?
But that aside, I don`t actually believe in ghosts (or their attire), and have no experiences that could be described as supernatural in anyway.

In my final year in college I was sharing a house with 3 friends. The previous resident had died in it and her son decided to rent it out.

We always joked that she haunted the place however one of the guys in the house started going on about hearing someone walking around the landing late at night when no one else was in the house. No one paid any attention to him and his stories.

Cut to later in the year and I'm in the house on my own studying upstairs in my room. Everyone else was working at the time. It was an hour before my final exam so I was cramming like mad.

Then I started hearing noises outside my room and someone walking the landing. I started to panic. There was no way in hell I was going to check what the noise was or open my bedroom door to have a look.

I contemplated jumping out the bedroom window(first floor). It was the only way I could get to my exam on time. I then started ringing my housemates to see if they were, indeed, in the house. No answer from any of them.

Just as I had my window open and about to jump out the window one of my housemates rang me back saying that he had called in sick that day and it was him that was moving around.

tl;dr I thought my housemate was a ghost, a boring ghost at that and one who provided a boring ghost story.

Don't worry it's not a ghost. You're just mentally ill.
