I need one, but should I pay 150euro for the
'canon angle finder c' or go for this one for 35euro http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2329

Ive heard that seagull makes there own optics and sell on to other brands for rebadging.

if it doesnt fall apart easily and the viewfinder isnt darker compared to the canon c finder I'll prob get one, but just checking if anyone has experience with the seagull finder, I didnt realise it was so cheap

I've used a cheapy one on my 400D.. it did what I wanted it to do. I can't find the attachment to put it on my 40D to tell you if it's darker or not. I have never used the canon one, so can't compare, but the one I have does what I need it to, I wouldn't regret the purchase.

Yep, I bought a cheap one too, and it's absolutely fine (for the limited use it's gotten so far).
Haven't used the real one, but it's really only a couple of mirrors so I can't see there being too much issue with it.

I have used the 'cheap' Angle finder too and without any complaint.

To be fair I have not used the canon version but could not think of how that could be so majorly different in what you see?

Maybe it really comes down to for what and how often you will use it - I am a hobby/weekend photographer so suits my needs just fine for the 1-2 times per month it is in use.

Why would you need one of these?

I have googled it (thats how I know what it is, i first tought is was a device for finding angels) but am none the wiser!

I always thought it was stupidly named.. You attach it to your camera, so that you can basically shoot your camera from the ground and still see in the viewfinder without causing permanent neck damage.

That makes sense! So, basically if you've no liveview it's a good purchase if you shoot a lot in difficult positions?

I would probably opt for one of these rather than use Live View, even though I have it on my Body.
