Effects of Xanax?

    This isnt medical advice more just opinions thanks. I have an appt for a colposcopy next week after an abnormal smear result. Im nervous which is expected. A friend in work gave me a xanax pill and said itd relax me beforehand. The thing is im not one for taking pills much even a paracetemol and am hesitant about its effects. I have to drive home after the procedure and dont want to be "out of it". Has anyone any experience of this drug and its likely effects? I just want to know if a)its safe to drive afterwards and b)how strong are its effects thanks. No medical advice required just an answer to those two questions.

    That is looking for medical advice.
    Drugs work differently on different people.
    One person might be grand, another might not.
    Either way, if your doctor hasn't prescribed it for you then you shouldn't be taking it.
