Blackra1n jailbreak is now available from www.blackra1n.com and just took me less than 1 minute to install. Requires intel mac as it wouldnt work on my G5.

Now to trackdown and install PDAnet to turn my iPhone into a Wifi tethering router. No Bluetooth/USB needed!

tbh there's something i don't like about geohot.

i think the fact that his website offers no instructions.
the installation tells you nothing about whats going on.
his jailbreak method is over 5 times the size (lines of code) than dev-team's.
he's only one guy, i prefer to trust a team of people.

but if it works it works.

apparently this jailbreak takes advantage of a different exploit to the others to crack the phone so this may explain why its larger and only takes less than 1min to complete.

tethering at the mo on 3.1 via wifi thanks to PDAnet which is better than the unavailable apple method over bluetooth.

BTW I used blackrain to jailbreak and not to unlock for another network so you need to use the old reliables if you need unlocking.

Just found a far better app than PDAnet called MyWi which in addition to turning your iPhone into a Wifi router for 1 or more computers, also reactivates the unavailable apple tethering via USB & bluetooth.

Another good one is Addition's iphone modem software. http://www.iphonemodem.com/
