Any advice on how to sync UPC remote with Phillips lcd.

Every time i turn off the tv, the UPC digital box wont recognise the remote and upc options freeze. Have tried all the usual tricks.
    Any ideas?

Are you pressing the UPC button to switch back to digibox mode? and the TV button to use the remote for television functions?

sorry if that sounds obvious but just incase!

I had vaguely similar problems, also with a Philips HDTV.

For me, when I hit the "TV" button to put the remote into TV mode; it caused something to happen to the UPC box and the signal/sound would start breaking up.

For a while I got around it by covering the top of the remote with my hand while I pressed the TV button, and then continuing as normal. But now I just use my AV receiver remote for that and the TV, and the UPC remote solely for that.

On the silver Thomson DVR at least, for some reason the TV button not only switches the remote to TV mode, but also switches the SCART output from RGB (assuming it was set to RGB to start with) to composite. On my TV (also a Philips) it causes a barely noticeable glitch in picture and sound when it happens, but I suppose other sets might react differently. Pressing the UPC button reverts the box back to RGB mode.
