Harchi to meet Europe

As the title says Harchibald will meet Sizing Europe in the Buck House Novice Chase.
This will be a very informative race.
At the age of 11 it looks as if Meade is taking a stab in the dark at running the enigmatic Harchibald over fences but for one sure thing there was many horses that could jump a hurdle as quickly and neatly as him. Sure hes a bridle horse but a flat track and a bit of experience could see him ruffle a few feathers this season.
As for sizing europe he relly impressed me on his fencing debut and again has the world at his feet yet again but whether he chooses to carry on with it only time will tell. But for one sure thing De Bromhead cant make to many more excuses for this fella.

Should be a very interesting race tomorrow, for a number of reasons, not least getting the opportunity to see these Harchibald try his hand at the 'real' fences! Really disappointed I won't be there (curses ill-timed dentist's appointment tomorrow!!)

Hope no-one minds me linking, but I've decided to lay Sizing Europe.

I was a huge fan of this horse after the AIG but he cost me a fortune. It's a fascinating contest but I'm going to keep stakes to a minimum. I think Bobs Pride may just have enough.

A lot of authority in Sizing Europes win. Will be a serious player in the Arkle if he jumps like that.

Harchi wasn't too bad either considering its his seasonal bow and his first run over fences. Should pick prize money as a novice chaser but i'd be pretty certain he'll always be a better hurdler.

I wonder would the Arkle be his no. 1 target or the RSA chase?

Yeh Im really looking forward to seeing more of Sizing Europe this year. Im a big fan of his. Im very interested to see what race he'll end up come march. Andrew Lynch is very confident that he'll get 3 miles. He's still only a 7 year old so its exciting times ahead!

Didn't De Bromhead say he'll campaigned over 2 miles this season. Think he has the Arkle this year-Gold Cup next year in mind. A well travelled route by good horses.

Harchi on good ground on a flat track over 2 miles would take serious stopping! Novice chase Kempton at xmas?

On any ground, at any course he won't beat Sizing Europe over fences anyway and i'd say Paul Nicholls might have a few too good for him too. If there's good ground at Christmas i'd say Noel Meade would let him take his chance at another Christmas hurdle. I say that because some of the Irish hurdlers stay at home for Leopardstown and some go to the Boylesports a couple of weeks earlier so its not as competitive as it could be given the prize money on offer. And the main reason Meade has him Novice Chasing in the first place is because of the stiff competition right now in the 2M hurdles.
