Is it not a case of bets void if he doesn't start though?

    Boylesports again.
11/2 stephen hunt for 1st goal tonight.
he is 10/1 with paddy powers and a massive 14/1 with corals.

I have a feeling boylesports will be mentioned a lot in this thread.

If you come across any ridiculous prices while comparing odds, especially bookmakers who are based in Ireland or have premises in Ireland, name and shame them here.
This really is ridiculous, bookies have different prices for a number of reasons, I don't see why they would be shamed? They may have simply cut the price to limit an exposure.

    Nothing wrong with that.

but that's nothing to do with the issue!! :D

Well, it does. If it's very likely that the bet will be void in the event that he doesn't start then the fact that he isn't starting is nullified and shouldn't be factored into the price.

    Spoilsports are a complete joke..
95% of early morning prices are way less than SP

Also something you might not know..
If you do a double the first wins and the second is first past post but is disqualified they dont pay.

Double result singles only...very fine print

A better comparison to make is to look at the margin that each company takes in pricing up a market. While some places may have a very short price on one player, it should be made up for by being biggest price elsewhere.

I've just taken the 4 main 'high street' bookies available in Ireland (boyles, PP, Hills & Lads) as well as Bet365 as a major online one and Extrabet as the fixed odds site of a spread betting company. The margins for their 1st goalscorer market in the Ireland game tonight work out like this.

    Boyles: 264%
    PP: 242%
    Hills: 251%
    Bet365: 255%
Extrabet: 229% (do not offer each way on the market)

I;ve taken this off oddschecker so not 100% accurate but not far off either.

Not a big man to defend them and Ihave no interest in racing but they can be very competitive on price with regard to sport at times. They price some things to a very small margin.

You cant use this Over round as the bookies will be refunding on a number of the players who dont start or come on after the first goal

Yeah but they'll all be refunding on the same players and i reckon it would be a relatively similar difference when voids are taken into account. I'm open to correction though.

I'd like to add paddy power's place market on the horses as ridiculous compared to ant other bookies that price up the place market.I have randomly picked out the 4.55 at wetherby but pick out any other race yourself on oddschecker and check out their place odds for yourself.l hope no 1 backs place with them.

The integrity of all bookies and trainers got me very angry last Thursdy. I was waiting on a horse of Gosdons in the 6.20 kempton for a nice 4 timer (560 for a tenner).

4/5 on course checked the odds on Betfair and it was 9/4 freely. I knew it couldnt win and it finished a poor second after "trouble in running"

    Joke shop

    Don't read it then..
Oh dear. If you post something on a public forum then prepare for some criticism and please don't feel the need to be so childish with your response. I'll continue to read and comment where I like.

Trying to name and shame bookies based on a single price is a ridiculous notion as has been pointed out above.

never seems to be such a huge diff as that...backable at 3.25 on bf and only 1.8 in PP, boyles etc? u sure u didnt make an error reading prices..?

were u comparing at the same time? that would surely create an ridiculously good arbing spot for every go damn Betfair punter....right?

    Positive.
But its not an arbing situation. It would if PP were 3.25 and Betfair 1.8.
