I bought a ¾ size guitar off adverts and in the process of cleaning it the good wife has managed to lose the bridge. Are bridges generally stocked by the local shops in Dublin?Expensive?

It depends, what guitar is it? There are many different types of bridges.

How the fook did you manage to lose an acoustic bridge?

You could buy one from stewmac.com but it would need to be fit professionally. The best bet is to take it to someone who knows what they're doing and get them to replace the bridge. Derrick Nelson out in Marlay Park would be a good option however I think it may end up costing you more than the guitar is worth to replace it.

Did you pull the bridge off or something? Surely it should have been glued on.

Don't know what she did.If I complain I'll get the 'don't ask me to do anything' line, that usually includes my laundry so I'm saying nothing.;) It isn't in great condition anyway,so I'm not surprised it fell off. I'd hope to give it to the nephew and if he took to it get a decent one. I know a guy in Knocklyon who fixes instruments, may throw it up to him.

It's great that she does all your laundry and stuff (wish mine did ), but removing the bridge to clean your guitar?

I was trying to be humourous about the loss of your bridge. My wife is the very same, let something out of your hand and it's gone to the tidy place ie the bin and as to stuff in the garage I had an accordion in bits on the workbench and she put a strimmer full of wet grass on top of it. I feel your pain.

I got a cheap electric and got some stuff in Waltons on south great georges street (I think, across the road from the Georges Arcade). Ask for Andy, He takes care of repairs. He gave me some free stuff yesterday and said that there was loads of broken guitars upstairs that they are happy to get rid of. Might be worth your while checking there.
