Exactly what i says on the tin. I'm at home and need to get my hands on a file i saved on my U: drive on campus. Anyone know if this is possible and, more importantly, how it is done? A quick search of tcd.ie has been fruitless

..I know UCD could let you do this

    https://filestorage.tcd.ie/studentj/joebloggs/

replace the j in studentj with the first letter of your username.

Can also be mounted as a drive in My Computer using Map Network Drive. Horribly slow though.

If you're talking about your personal filestorage, this is how it's done:

    Open Internet Explorer

    Go to File>Open

    Tick "Open as web folder"

Enter https://filestorage.tcd.ie/studentj/jbloggs, replacing 'jbloggs' with your username and 'studentj' with 'student' immediately followed by the first letter of your username.

Press OK. You'll get a dialog box asking for your username and password. For your username enter College\jbloggs. Enter your password as normal.

Of course, if you have Vista you have to do it slightly differently, but I know how that rolls too.

Having some trouble with the filestorage myself. I dont have a "open as web folder" box to tick, there's no boxes to tick at all on it.

    Help!
