As a news junkie, I have to admit to watching MSNBC on telstar at 15 degrees west recently.
It is so bad, and I dont mean extreme right wing like Fox News,(Which is also bad) but does every presenter on US news channels have to express their personal opinions when discussing the news ??
At least over here, the Newscasters just read the news.... or do they ??:pac:

I love the news too and hope one day UPC can give us FOX/Russia Today/F24 etc. American news is full of opinions . It's rating driven.

Still it would be great to be able to view some of their available European output to make this decision. I know their weekend schedules are filled with repeats, no news at all.

Indeed so. Last night here, (Mid afternoon in the US), MSNBC were showing back to back pre-recorded shows about crime labs.
Fox News were showning prerecorded shows such as media watch etc.
Earlier this year, CNN USA and headline news, were unscrambled on telstar, and I have to admit that CNN US is not even a shadow of its former self. What has happened to lou Dobbs, he was often seen presenting CNN finiancial programmes relayed on CNN international. His recent programmes on CNN USA are dreadful, almost as extreme as Glenn Beck of FOX.
Rich Sanches of CNN USA is also what is described as a "Liberal" commentator. Why all this left wing/right wing/ liberal agenda from news readers. Should they be impartial and give the news as it is ???
It is sometimes interesting to watch US Newschannels, the car chases are nice, and the recent boy who was but who wasnt in the balloon being a case in point. But for real hard factual news, the US news channells are a real letdown.

I think the cable news is mainly commentary news and you should get real hard factual news off the network news abc, cbs.

    Unless its Dan Rather reporting.
