Worried about driving my own car for test

    Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone had any issues with the type of car they turned up to for their driving test? I have my test coming up next month and my one concern is my car. I'm afraid they'll look at my car and judge me silly as it sounds:( I'm driving a 1.8 Celica which has slight bucket seats that was built with the car.. I'm not a girl racer by any means but I'm just worried they'll see it and be extra tough on me.. any opinions on this?
    Thanks

As donegalFella said, i really wouldn't worry about it, i've heard of people doing their test in a lot "flashier" cars, and have had no problems. I doubt they really care tbh, just make sure it's clean outside as well as in and you'll be grand. Best of luck with the test.

Hey Lillady, I would not dream of doing my test in any other car than you are used to, I know when I did my own test it made a huge difference even for confidence wise.

So if it makes you more comfortable then do it regardless of what car you drive ok, and best of luck. :D

Consider this, I done my test in a Civic with Recaro bucket seats, the tester complimented them, yet I failed

No one is saying if you do your test in a modified/sporty car you're 100% going to pass!

I was talking more so about the seats, rather than passing/failing the test.

I wouldn't worry about it. A bigger car might even give off a better impression as they would be harder to handle than a smaller car. I did my test in an audi a3 1.6 which has a tendency to cut out a lot. I failed first time in Wicklow and passed 2nd time in Tallaght. Good luck!

Hi, I wouldn't worry about it much. I also went to do test with my car, and it was no problem. Make sure that your car working properly, that there is no wind screen cracks, no tinted glass, wipers are all working properly, etc. Good luck with your test
