Guys if anyone can help it would be great. Is it possible to spot-weld stainless steel to cast iron? Thanks in advance.

short answer is no, the weld will never take.

But i could be corrected by a smart arse :)

Do you mean by resistance spot welding? If so I don't think it will work.
But if the components are thick enough to allow them to be stick welded then it may work if the parts to be welded are pre heated and a rod for welding dissimilar metals or a stainless steel rod is used.
    Brazing might work too.

I've seen cast iron welded to gun barrel and it worked. There's a special rod for welding cast iron but they're few and far between if I recall correctly.
