    Can anyone give me some information on this?

    Pros, cons, is it worth it?, is it safe?

    pros? fast
    cons? not as good as well made trays, doesn't tend to last as long, more tooth sensitivity afterwards, can be uncomfortable to be lying in the chair for up to 2 hours.
    Is it worth it? depends on the cost and the result which can be hard to predict

    I stopped using it a couple of years ago, results were unpredictable, teeth sensitive, patients uncomfortable sitting for so long for non invasive treatment, effect wears off quite quickly. I used to have to make trays afterwards so there was no point doing it in the first place. The only advantage is that it is convenient if you need it in a hurry.

    Apart from the fact that there is no 'laser' being used. It is usually just blue light. Marketing gimmick.

    Ha Ha. 'Laser':D indeed. that stuff makes me laugh .

    But I must admit it's sometimes useful for someone who wants white teeth immediately for some important event in the near future. And results are better with younger people. If you do home bleaching with trays first then follow with the 'laser' the results will be far better than doing it the other way round. But that defeats the marketing sales pitch of '1 hour whitening'.

    the "1 hour whitening" always takes me nearly 2 hours.
    Davo10, what do you mean unpredictable, i guarantee they'll be sensitive:D
    every time i do it i think of the guys in westerns selling snake oil, I always do my best to get people to use trays and deep bleaching as the best way

    there's no laser?????:(:eek::(

    ...
    I would be interested to know what home whitening kits you dentists would recommend, Im always a bit worried as to the damage they may cause to teeth, if any? :D

    Denisejcc I don't know of any dentist that would use any whitening gel or other treatment which would damage teeth. Surely this would be unethical :confused:

    Did I ask about the treatments the dentists use? No! I merely asked about whitening kits in general. I did not suggest that the dentist ''would use any whitening gel or other treatment which would damage teeth'' :mad::mad::mad:
