I'm interested in buying an Epiphone Casino. I have a Les Paul and a Strat, but am looking for something a little cleaner and less 'ballsy', as the other two I mainly use don't suit everything that I like to play.

Basically I'm just wondering is a Casino a good guitar. Any feedback from people who own or have played them would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

I bought a Casino for €499 in swords back in August. It is a beautiful Guitar. Build quality is exceptional. The P90 pickups have a beautiful warm tone. I bought mine in the Vintage Sunburst finish but you can have them in natural and cherry.

The only gripes that I would have is that the nut is rubbish, strings can get trapped in it when tuning. Also the bottom E string buzzes. The buzz can't be heard when the Guitar is amplified but it annoys me never the less as sometimes I like to play the Guitar un-amplified. To be honest, these are small drawbacks.

It is a beautiful Guitar. It retails at around €599 in most shops but you can order one from the Music Outlet in Swords in Dublin (opposite the Pound Pub) for €499.

Put simply, yes, you should buy one. :)

They are all pretty good, but you get what you pay for i.e. the Elitist Casinos are a lot nicer than the Korean ones. Depends on how much you want to pay. Otherwise the stock Epi pickups on the Korean models ain't so great, so consider a change of pickups if you go that route.
