I've heard about their dire customer service (lots of threads around here) but I got a HP server from them (cause I couldn't find the specific one anywhere else) and not only did I have no problems, but it was the fastest delivery I've ever had from a UK based retailer. But I've only dealt with them once, so I don't know if it was a fluke.

I very much doubt you'd get a refurb though. They would have to clearly advertise them as such. I'd only worry about any potential problems with the order (which like I said, was not my experience at all but I've read the horror stories too). But if you got your system ok, any further dealings would be with Apple directly anyway.

Have you looked at Apple UK prices at all? You might be able to get a good deal up North, the exchange rate is still pretty favorable and it seems the more expensive a specific Mac model is, the bigger the price difference between the UK and IE stores...

They won't be refurbished equipment. The models they are selling ship with 10.5 pre-installed. You can get an update disc from Apple for the price of delivery.

    Hi,

Macbook pro base model will cost me 1080 euro from apple.ie (with my groupschemes discount)

Same laptop incl delivery is 927 euro incl delivery (using promo code) from laptopsdirect.ie

No brainer! Except for reviews ive seen re there customer care ..

Im satisfied i will not have a problem with the mac but just wondering is it worth the saving of 140 euro ... is there a chance id get a refurb model? or is that being very paranoid ?

    Thanks

I am looking at getting a mac and the prices on laptopsdirect.ie are a lot better than apple.ie, so did you end up ordering from them in the end???
