Domestic Chicken/Hen Coop

    I want to get my parents a chicken coop for their garden up the country. Does anyone know if chicken or hens can be left on their own for days on end? My folks just spend weekends up there so the coop would be left unattended for 4-5 days in a row each week.
    What are the potential problems? Feeding? Foxes?
