Hi guys, id greatly appreciate any help on this as Im a complete novice at this kind of thing.
So im hoping to do a tour next january, starting from Beijing working all the way down to bangkok via vietnam and cambodia.
I then plan on making my own way down through phukett, malaysia and down to singapour.
This should take about 2 and a half months in total. However I would LOVE to see nepal and tibet as, if things go to plan, I should have at least another month to spare.
My question is what is the best way of incorporating nepal and tibet into the above trip??
Would it make sense to fly from singapore back up to beijing and take a tour all the way accross to Napal?? I dont really like the idea of backtracking.

Id appreciate any help, thanks a mil in advance

You're definitely going to have to fly to Nepal/Tibet. I'm open to correction but I think you have to go on guided tours in Tibet which you'd probably want to sort out in advance. That will obviously add to the cost. Give yourself a month in Nepal if you can.

Thanks for your reply. Ive suddenly discovered an interest in Bhutan aswell.
Would you have any ideas about tour companies that would cover all 3 in one go??

I'm afraid I don't but doubtless there are many out there. Be aware that doing a tour of that nature will probably add significantly to the cost of the trip. Also, you should have a think about what you'd like to do in each country before committing to a tour. In my opinion, it would not be worth visiting Nepal just to see Kathmandu and the surrounding area for a week or so. You should try and go trekking if you can.

EDIT 3.5 months sounds pretty good just to spend in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan!

If you are starting the tour in Beijing and Tibet is next door to China and Nepal next door to Tibet why not either can the idea of the route to Vietnam and either go Beijing to Kathmandu by yourself or find a tour that does that route. You can then fly from Kathmandu to Bangkok and continue on towards Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam that way.
tbh Im dubious of tours in SE Asia- its a well travelled route, you'll meet lots of people on the way and you'll also do it for half the price that a tour will charge you.
Also if there are spots you really like indpendent travel allows you to stay and linger a few days rather than having to stick to a schedule. That is usually the single biggest complaint/regret of people who do tours.

Oh and unless you are minted forget about Bhutan- a tourist visa there costs $200 PER DAY.

    Thanks a mil for that.....
I think what i might actually be doing now, is starting in bangladesh (ive been invited to a wedding there as of today) and then go north to Kathmandu and Tibet. Would you know by any chance of the cheapest flight options from Kuthmandu to Beijing?

Wow I didn't know that! Any idea why they're set the cost so prohibitively high?

OP, maybe start looking for flights here

    http://www.attitudetravel.com/lowcostairlines/asia/

Someone on boards gave me that link ages ago and it was very useful.

Thanks a mil.........there seem to be very reasonable prices on that website alright. 300eur to fly from one end of china to the other isnt bad or could i get it for cheaper??

Its the only truly buddhist country in the world and the king wants to limit tourism severely to preserve the culture ( which has changed little in over a thousand years) that they have there. Its the only country in the world that has banned smoking (yes, banned it completely!) and Thimpu, the capital, is the only capital in the world not to have installed a set of traffic lights ! Apparently the people and the Himalayan scenery there are truly awesome but unfortunately at $200 a day it remains the preserve of the very wealthy.
