    I have applied to be put on the housing list. I will have my interview in 2.5 weeks. I was in an estate agents asking about renting out a different property. She told me that the rent would have to be the exact same as what I was getting off the social. So the social give me €400, I can only find an apartment for that amount. Would I not be able to add a few euro to that a month to find something a bit better. There are no apartments in my area that cheap anyway

    social welfare are not in the business of subsidising landlords who are charging top dollar.

    You will need to find something cheap enough to fall at or under the social welfare ceiling.
