22 yr old here, and my wisdom teeth are beginning to come, (I definitely have at least two after sprouting now and I think I am on my 3rd)! I awoke Friday morning with a fair soreness in my mouth and scheduled an appointment with my Dentist (2nd such in ten years).

After visiting the Dentist the area was examined and basically the area is sore as there is a tooth underneath pushing upwards and it has gotten swollen and the gum is all swollen around the neighbouring tooth, I didn't really get much satisfaction and the Dentist said it was not bad enough to warrant anti-biotics, He didn't say it was Pericoronitis and this I diagnosed myself.

I awoke Saturday morning with a violent pain in it around 6am and all I could find in the house was Tylenol PM which I use for knocking myself out on long flights:eek: It worked and I awoke at around 2pm Saturday with much of the pain subsided. I got Anbesol and it helps to numb the area (much better than Bongela). Sunday I was on more Analgesics this time Nurofen (better I think) and it deadened the pain for most of the day.

I am going to a different Dentist tomorrow for a 2nd opinion as my breath stinks and my mouth tastes foul and the pain is pretty bad. I wonder how long does Pericoronitis take to heal up? as I am flying out of the country on Friday. Hopefully I will get somewhere with the other Dentist tomorrow!
