    Hello all,
I'm new here and was looking for some help. I have about 200+ DVD's that i'm looking to load onto a device that can then play these on my TV. As I also have a number of movies on hard drive i'd like to be able to load these onto it too.
I have a PS3 and Sony Amp system hooked up to my tv at the moment so don't know if these would be a help or hindrance.
Anyway any recommendations would be appreciated. :D

I done the same with my collection. Used Dvd Decrypter to rip the discs, and a prog called Video Redo Plus to convert to mpeg. The second prog also fixes the time stream, as sometimes the raw vob file jumps around from scene to scene while watching.

Its the most boring, and repetitive job I think Ive ever had to do pc wise.

I think they call this device a DVD player ;)

    Get a 1.5TB or 2TB hard-drive. Can be had for around €100.

Then just use DVDFab Decrypter (free) to rip them to the hard-drive. Should only take 5 or 10 minutes per DVD, depending on the speed of your DVD drive.

You needn't even bother converting them to another format (unless you really want to), it would take hours per movie to do it properly (depending on settings and your CPU). Storage space is so cheap, and because you only have 200 DVDs (maybe 5GB on average) you'd fit the lot onto a 1.5TB drive anyway.

Then just buy something like the WD TV Media player (link) or one of its competitors. It should play the ripped DVD folders no bother.

    Just found this: http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/3780518/art/storex/story-disk-cd14778-2-tb-m.html#tech-specs
and was wondering since it has a 2TB hard drive would it cut out the need to get a seperate Hard-drive and TV media player. If so does anyone know if this brand is any good.
    Also found this: http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/3791197/art/storex/md05844-2-tb-media-player.html#tech-specs
I'd rather spend a few extra yo-yo to get something decent. From past experience i'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for or is it better to keep media player and hard drive seperate.
Admittedly neither of these is especially attractive for keeping with your tv system.
