    Hello all
If I cancel(discontinue) my sky subscription do they remove their boxes from my house or do they just turn them off.
I might cancel for a year or so.

I would like to try out one of these lidl (for example) dishes for awhile.
Is it possible to use the sky dish with these systems.
    Any ideas.

if you're still under the 12 month contract with Sky I think they may take it back.
Otherwise, you can happily just ring them up, tell em to bog off, and use the hardware as a FTA system.

AFAIK, the lidl dishes will work with sky boxes, and sky dishes will work will with lidl boxes.

Yes,the sysyem has been in the house a few years now.
I just want to pay out one price once .....cost cutting etc.
I must watch for the next Lidl deal.
    Tks

you own the equipment with sky after the 12 month contract has elapsed. As an FTA box, the sky EPG is lacking. You'd be better off looking elsewhere than lidl/aldi as their equipment, while keenly priced, is often basic

just remove the sky card and re boot box. this will give you the channels available without paying sky..
you dont need any other equipment.

Absolutely, the system in Lidl is no better than what you have at home already; no need to purchase anything

you would need to add/view Channel 5 as an 'other channel' and you can add a lot of ITV regions as 'other channels' too. see my website www.british-tv-in-france.co.uk for details of these proceedures.
    the skyman

remove the sky card (front of box)
remove the power lead (or unplug from mains ) for a couple of seconds (20 ish) and plug in again..
