My girlf and myself looking for land in kildare to build a house. Is this possible as both of us work in dublin and are not from Kildare?

Do you have to apply for a site with FPP or would the council consider granting planning to non-kildare couples? there is obviously a premium attached to a site granted with FPP and you have to go with their plans.

    Any advice much appreciated:)

If the land is zoned for housing around a town or village then anyone can build there. If the site you're looking for is in the countryside then you will have to comply with the policies of the Development Plan on criteria and qualifications for building in a rural area.

go to the kildare county council web site and look up the county development plan. it will tell you what you need to know. but to build in the countryside you need to be from the area originally or be working in some local industry ie farming
