I have been failing to get a new Cyfra+ card initialised in a ClarkeTech 5000C (firmware 1.79p) also tried a Dreambox with various software CAMs. Would anyone know if this should be possible? I was hoping I wouldn't need to purchase a hardware CAM.
    Thanks

Hm, mine initialised in a Technomate 6900 Super (which I believe to be something similar to CT 5000) cardslot, and that's where it continues to work. Have you all dodgy stuff disabled?..

Well I think it should work. At the moment it pops up "Scrambled channel".
I have the latest patched firmware 1.79p and going back to 1.58p it said seca3+seca2 card support fixed. The fact it doesn't work with the Dreambox makes me think something isn't right with the card. If I look at the card info, it shows it is enabled for 3 services, cyfra+,cyfra+ 1 and cyfra +2. I tested the ART Sports Viaccess card in the same slot and that worked fine. I'll check back with the vendor tomorrow. Thanks

Do you have the card inserted the right way up ? The chip is usually face down in sat receivers.

Have you left the card on a Cyfra channel long enough for it to update keys?

As I said, you should try disabling everything except Seca in menus, see if that helps (ie. maybe there's a conflict between the card, and something in that patch).

The card is definitely recognised in the CT 5000 receiver because I can read subscription details in the config menu. I haven't come across menus with the patch for enabling encryption types. I'm not sure if the 6900 is different or if this is something I've missed.
I'm not that patient so I probably haven't left it long enough to update. The vendor said they could send a reactivation signal if I give them my serial number.

Eventually I got the card activated in a Dreambox with CCCcam but it took about 2 days and needed to be left on the TVP1 channel. The card is working fine back in the CT5000 - the HD picture is excellent.
    Thanks
